Chiang Mai is on the Top 10 of World’s Friendliest Cities

The travel magazine, Conde Nast Traveller has unveiled its latest list of World’s Friendliest Cities that includes two Australian destinations this year. The list by Conde Nast Traveller is as follows:

  1. Florianopolis, Brazil
  2. Hobart, Tasmania
  3. Thimpu, Bhutan
  4. Queenstown, New Zealand
  5. Charleston, South Carolina
  6. Paro, Bhutan equal with Margaret River, Australia
  7. Mandalay, Burma
  8. Kilkenny, Ireland
  9. Ubud, Bali
  10. Chiang Mai, Thailand

If you look closer at the list, you will find that Florianopolis in Brazil has gained the top spot this year. Previous year, this island of magic was at the 2nd place and Hobart was at the top whereas this year, ‘it’s vice versa. Florianopolis has friendly locals, excellent views and a high class airport. The Tasmanian capital, Hobart was one of the best cities to be visited by the people of the website Lonely planet this year. This place was highly praised for its unique locations, kind and friendly natives and its immense beauty. Thimpu in Bhutan gained the third place which was praised for its modern and ancient look. Margeret River of Australia had a tie with Paro in Bhutan for the sixth place and was praised for the fine vineyards and pristine beaches. Kilkeeny in Ireland was also tied with Ubud in Bali as they have friendly locals and soothing atmosphere with picture perfect locations. And the tenth position of the world’s friendliest cities was offered to Chiang Mai.

There are numerous reasons why this city made it to the top 10 position of the World’s Friendliest Cities.
